An Artist’s Villain Arc
Gwenyth Ernst—known as “Gwen” in the duo’s title—is the middle child of her siblings and illustrator of the up-and-coming work, The Bohemian Trials. She has enjoyed drawing since she was old enough to properly hold a crayon, but her passion for art really took off when she was 11 years old, having realized that the Japanese animations she was growing up on was a style of visual art—one that she herself could learn and train herself in. By the time she was in junior high, she began to look into the varying career paths tied to art, starting with animation. After several years of honing in her artistic skills and obtaining her Wacom tablet, she quickly found her true passion in art: illustration.
Throughout the past several years, Gwen has been drawing day-in and day-out, whether that be through YouTube animations, anatomy practices, commission projects, or—most often—work associated with The Bohemian Trials. Inevitably, several years of consistent creation had put Gwen on a doctor-prescribed, splints-required break for two months at the end of 2021. Today, she works just as hard but a whole lot smarter, ensuring that this will be a lifelong career for herself. In regards to the hopes she has for this career, she expects to give visual life to as many eerie stories that her sister can come up with, given that they’re both a fan of darker genres.
